You know the old saying,  " Don't mess with Mother Nature?" Well, I just couldn't help it.... Winters are long here in New England... Beautiful, CHARMING, and quaint, but LOOOONG....What's a girl to do?

Forever GREEN

This is what happens when COLOR goes missing in my outside garden for too long...

FOLLOW YOUR HOMESCHOOLING HEART~it will lead you home

It's been said that if you follow your heart your life will be a more authentic life. In short, it will be YOUR LIFE. Not the one you "think" you should live based on what the others are doing, advice from the "experts" or  your family's expectations of you. The only true EXPERT in your life is you! It's not easy to go against the tide, strike out against the majority and go with your gut! It takes courage and great faith to leap out into the unknown. But that's just what we did when we decided to home school our children 10 years ago....

My Precious Guinea Pigs

My first experience with having my own pet was with these little furry angels. They are my Guinea Pigs and they are VERY cute!!! My mom calls them the Cutie -Pies!

The black and white  one is named Oreo. (she's the shy one ) The other cutie pie is Scooter and  is one of Oreo's offspring. Oreo surprised us with two babies just 3 short months after we brought her and a boy Guinea Pig (Pedro) home from the pet shop! We didn't know he was a boy! That was back when Pedro Martinez was playing for the Red Sox and my brother thought it would be a good name for him. Sadly, Pedro, (the father) and Boo, (one of the twins) passed away within the past couple of years. But the memory of them lives on within our hearts.

February's Gift~

  september rose

What's NOT to love about February?

This issue of Dandelion House is your "from the heart" issue.  February can be so much more than the month of Romance, Roses and Chocolate if we give it half a chance. February's gift gives us the time to reflect on all that we love. It's the end of slow cooked meals, (comfort food ) baking galore, cozy nights under the blankets, marathon movie days and all those winter daydreams you have tucked away for safe keeping. It's the month before March madness begins ( and I'm not talking about basketball ) and the promise of a new gardening season waits.
